Serving and supporting the people of the Medina Lake Area.
Serving residents of the Medina Lake area is at the heart of everything we do. LHCC supports the community by hosting civic events, including candidate forums, elections, blood drives and educational programs. We also partner with area non-profit organizations to host community service events, including monthly food distribution with Silver Sage and the SA Food Bank. Each summer, the LHCC hosts the Hill Country Samaritans’ annual Back to School Bash, where local students get school supplies, free haircuts, free sports physicals, and more.

Learn About Donations
Your support helps the LHCC bring great programs and activities to Lakehills area children, seniors, and families and also helps us maintain and improve our facilities. Our funding comes entirely through special events, grants, and donations. Thank you for your donation!
TYPES OF DONATIONS
IN-KIND DONATIONS
An in-kind donation is a non-cash gift in the form of time, services, expertise, and goods. The LHCC publishes lists of in-kind donations needed to fit our needs. Goods are especially needed in July, August, and September as the annual Cajun Festival fundraiser approaches. For other in-kind donations, please get in touch with the LHCC (contactus@lhcctx.org) to make sure that your generous consideration makes sense for our mission at that point in time. A gift acknowledgment form is available.
LEGACY GIVING (AKA planned giving, deferred giving, estate giving)
Legacy Giving refers to donations identified in a Will or Trust that supporters plan to give after their passing. Please get in touch with the LHCC (contactus@lhcctx.org) for more information.
DESIGNATED DONATIONS
Designated Donations are given with a specific purpose in mind and may result from a solicitation or fundraising event. These funds are labeled as Restricted by the Treasurer. A donor making a designation that doesn’t make sense for our organization at that time may be asked if the money could be used for other purposes.
UNDESIGNATED DONATIONS
Undesignated donations will be used for any purpose.
Our Facility
Located off Park Rd 37 near beautiful Medina Lake, the Lakehills Community Center’s sizeable grounds contain two covered pavilions, an outdoor stage, bleachers, a gazebo, covered booths, beautiful open space shaded by large mature trees, and extensive parking. The building itself, constructed in 1971, has a 3000 square foot open room, a stage and dressing room, and a large kitchen with a walk-in cooler.
Recent years have seen updates including high speed internet, ADA compliance improvements, and a new roof. In response to the 2020 pandemic, safety measures including a UV-filtration, hand sanitizing stations, and sterilizing equipment were acquired allowing the Lakehills Community Center to continue to fulfill its mission safely.
More recently, thanks to donations, fundraising, and generous grants from various agencies, we have added a new HVAC system, front entry, roadside sign, sidewalks, large pavilion fans, this new website, and other improvements.
Our Community
The Lakehills Community Center is ultimately just that…community. We are locals, weekenders, neighbors, and family gathering together to enrich the quality of life in the Medina Lake area. This all-volunteer organization began over fifty years ago and has journeyed with the community through growth, drought, crises times, and celebrations.
Led by a fifteen-person board of directors, we are a host of volunteers supporting and staffing events, working to maintain and improve the facility for community use, and providing programs that make a difference. Whether a volunteer is bringing their skills to offer or joining in to learn a new skill, the camaraderie of working together is fantastic!
Membership in the Lakehills Community Center helps provide resources and gives you a vote and a voice to help shape the movement of the Community Center as we continue to serve, enrich, and inspire our community.
